The Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Last week I went to see one of the clerks in the front office. On his door was a sign saying ‘walkabout.’ That made me smile because I immediately thought of Pastor George and Charlotte. (Just in case you don’t know the term ‘walkabout’ is an Australian Aborigines term which has come to mean just walking away from your office or job.) My clerk was walking about doing a safety inspection of our building.

This put a question in my mind how new words become integrated into our vocabulary. Take ‘to google’ for example. This was added to the Oxford English Dictionary on June 15, 2006. In the 2006 update of Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate® Dictionary, Eleventh Edition over 100 new words were added.

And…..I tried really hard to make a meaningful write up with this, but it just didn’t come together. So following up on new words, I found this idea for a new way to communicate with God.
