The Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. 1 Corinthians 11:23b-26
Greetings in the name of Jesus!
On the night when He was betrayed, Jesus took a towel tied it around his waist knelt down and washed the feet of his disciples, including Judas’. On the night when He was betrayed Jesus told them how much He loved his disciples and called them friends “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13) On the night when He was betrayed, Jesus broke bread with his friends – a symbol of trust, friendship and peace – and then He fulfilled what the Passover Meal foreshadowed: He is the Lamb of God who gave His body and shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins.
