Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm 46:10

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

Beautiful as the verse above sounds, I have a hard time being still and not fearing when natural disasters, wars or human deceptions cause desolations on the earth. But the Psalmist is not telling us to stand up foolhardy to reality or deny it. Instead, he is telling us to know the whole truth and to hold on to it for dear life; and it is true that God reveals Himself to us more clearly when things seem to be falling apart, like His Son dying on cross seemed to be the end of Him. But God does this so that we stop trusting those lose things all around us – they too will fall apart – to trust Him Who made and sustains heaven and earth and to see that He is a very present help in trouble.
