For a long time I have held my peace; I have kept still and restrained myself; now I will cry out like a woman in labour; I will gasp and pant I will lay waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their vegetation; I will turn the rivers into islands, and dry up the pools. And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them. Isaiah 42:14-16
Greetings in the name of Jesus!
While Jesus hung on the cross, He cried out in pains stronger than a woman in labour to give us the joy of our new birth by water and the Word into God’s household, to nurse us in the bosom of our mother the Church by His Word and Sacraments, to teach us how to walk through this life, to lead the way so we don’t have to guess where we are going or get stuck when perplexed and to bring us up engaged in fruitful labour bearing the fruits of the Spirit.
