Greetings in the name of Jesus!

Like He did with Mary, Jesus also challenges our expectations because He doesn’t subject Himself to our will. Jesus doesn’t come running to give us the quick fixes we want. But He brings about a whole new life through death. That is what he means when he says, “take up your cross and follow me” (Lk 9:23) i.e. that the old man must die first for the new to man to rise; and Jesus takes His time with us. He knows we are slow learners so He walks us slowly, slowly subjecting us to the way of the cross, daily training us to face death: to die a little each day – daily to sin – to also rise daily with Him and not be anxious about life because life is His to give and He is determined to give us life abundance.
