For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.  Romans 8:3-4

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

Our participation in Christ’s death is not only relevant when we come to the end of our life. His resurrection changes our very next moment by freeing us to live by a new law now: freedom from sin, freedom from those things in us that are passing and bound to die for good: our flesh – the old man in us – the part that won’t transcend the grave, but the other part in us which, in a sense, is “sentenced” to life will and we will receive an incorruptible body “for the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2)
